Sedation dentistry uses a sedative medication to help you feel more at ease and relaxed during your dental appointment. Several types of sedation dentistry are available based on your individual preferences and needs:

Nitrous oxide: Also called laughing gas, this sedative gas is mixed with oxygen. We will have you inhale the gas during your visit to help you feel calmer. Nitrous oxide is very mild, so it wears off within just a few minutes after the mask is removed.
Oral sedation: This type of sedation involves taking an oral medication before your appointment. When you arrive for your visit, you will feel relaxed.
IV sedation: This sedative medication is administered intravenously (through the veins). This allows the sedation to be provided more quickly. In addition, we can control the level of sedation easily to ensure your comfort.

Our dentists and team are committed to ensuring that you are safe during treatment. We are each highly trained and will monitor you carefully during your visit. If you choose to have oral or IV sedation, make sure a friend or family member is available to drive you to and from your visit.
